Spring Break Virtual Class

Take the 30-hour driver education class online via Zoom. Once the class has been successfully completed, the students will be placed in the queue for behind-the-wheel driving at their WCPSS-assigned base high school. 

The Spring Break Class is FULL! We do not offer a waitlist. If a spot becomes availabe it will populate on the page to the right. 

These virtual classes are open to any student that attends high school in Wake County as long as they attend a public, private, or home school.

We register students oldest to youngest, the system will not allow you to register unless the student meets the age requirement. Once the class is full the registration window will close for all students.

  • Registration opens for students 16 years of age and older on Jan. 16th
  • Registration opens for students 15.5 years of age and older on Jan. 19th at 9 am 
  • Registration opens for students 15 years of age and older on Jan. 23rd at 9 am 
  • Registration opens for students 14.5 years of age and older on Jan. 26th at 9 am
  • Registration closes on March 29, unless class fills prior to this date. 
If there are no classes listed on this page, all classes have been filled to capacity. You will need to wait for the next registration period. There are no waitlists for future classes. Contact your lead instructor if you have questions. Their contact information is on this page. Please do not contact the JDS office staff, as they cannot make exceptions to these rules.

    Please pay attention to the age restriction imposed during our registration process. If you do not meet the age requirement by the first day of class, you will need to select a future class or wait until the next registration period once the age limit has been reduced. Contact your lead instructor if you have questions about the age requirementTheir contact information is found on this page.     • 30 hours of classroom
    • 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons
    • 6 hours of in-car observations

    Students who may be home-schooled, charter schools, or Montessori schools that do not have a physical classroom at their high school will be educated via virtual classroom.
